Rep. Cuellar During Defense Appropriations Markup Pt. 1

During today’s consideration of the Defense Appropriations bill, I highlighted several priorities I secured to support military readiness, service members, and military families. This includes continued investment in human performance research at UT San Antonio, which helps improve warfighter health, reduce injuries, and strengthen mission readiness. I also secured support for the Air Force Talent Pipeline Modernization Initiative to help address the pilot shortage and strengthen the aviation workforce. The bill also supports pay increases for service members and continued support for the USO, which provides important programs for deployed troops and military families. I will continue working through the appropriations process to support our service members, strengthen national security, and deliver results for South Texas.
